Tamas Toth – director, screenwriter, clipmaker, graphic artist. Born in 1966, in Budapest, graduated from VGIK (All-Russian State Institute if Cinematography) (1990, workshop of S. Solovyov). One of the founders of the First European Children animation studio in Budapest (1978). Engaged in painting and graphics. The first exhibition in Budapest (1979). Since 1982 his illustrations and book covers are published regularly. Makes music videos and commercials, works on television. Puts performances, works as an artist in the theater. His film Children of iron Gods won in three different nominations a national cinema award Nika.
Kirill Grebenshchikov is Russian actor, famous for his melodramatic series and mini-series. Born on June 22, 1972 in the family of actors of the theater named after Stanislavsky. In 1991 he entered the acting department, the course of A. B. Pokrovskaya. The popularity of the actor emerged after the film Seraphima the Beautiful, as well as the TV series Pregnancy Test, Double solid line and their continuation. The first experience expert took place in 1992 - a cameo role in the film “Russian romance”. In 1999, he starred in the episodic role as a junker in Nikita Mikhalkov’s film “The Barber of Siberia”. Since 2004 he began acting regularly in films and TV shows.
Liu Zhe has been working in the China Film Association since 1996. For more than 20 years she has been playing a huge part in the organisation of the Chinese film festival with a poetic name China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival and also the Golden Rooster International Film Exhibition that takes place in the course of the film festival. The Golden Rooster festival is known as Chinese Oscar. Liu Zhe is the member of the international jury of the XVI Baikal International Festival of Documentary and Popular-Science Film n.a. V. Rasputin.
Filmmaker, theatre director, playwright, professor. Born in Enbekshikazakhsk, Alma-Ata Disctrict, in 1954. Graduated from the theatre section of Alma-Ata State Conservatory, Higher Courses for Directors and Scriptwriters (workshop of S. Soloviev). People’s Actor of Kazakhstan, winner of the International Aitmatov Award, of the prize of the Lenin Komsomol of Kazakhstan. Prize-winner of prestigious IFFs, among them the Grand Prix of IFF Frankfurt /Main (1988), Silver Bear of the Giffoni FF (1989). Writer of the stories “Good Morning” (1979), “Gulnaz” (1986), “Reflections”, etc. Since 2014 Talgat Temenov has been the artistic director of the Kuanyshbaev State Academic Kazakh Musical and Drama Theatre in Astana.
Hervé Schneid ACE. - Editor Award winning editor Hervé Schneid is one of the most well respected editors working in film today. He has collaborated with a number of directors including Sally Potter, Lars Von Trier, Mike Figgis, Regis Wargnier, Bille August, Jean-François Richet, Jean-Jacques Annaud, Volker Schloendorff. From his earlier work on Lars Von Trier’s Cannes prize winning ‘’Europa’’ which established his international reputation and earned him
his first award, the Danish Robert for best editing, his varied career has spanned Hollywood blockbusters such as “Alien: Resurrection” to French art-house classics like ‘’Delicatessen’’, for which he won the Cesar for best editing in 1992. This was the beginning of a long-term collaboration with world-renowned filmmaker Jean-Pierre Jeunet, that has seen him work on some of the biggest French breakout hits of the past twenty years.

Satybaldy Narymbetov is a Soviet and Kazakh film director, screenwriter, author. Honored Worker of Kazakhstan. Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Born on March 8, 1946 in the village of Achisay, Turkestan District, Chimkent Region. He graduated from the screenwriting faculty of VGIK (All-Soviet State Institute of Cinematography) in 1969. Member of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR, Member of the Writer Union of Kazakhstan. Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Laureate of the Independent Prize named after George Sadoul, Laureate of the Independent Award “Platinum Tarlan”. Awarded with the Order Kurmet.
Milyausha Aytuganova Producer. Director of Tatarkino. She was born on April 5, 1965. Milyausha is head of Film and Television Directing Department of the Kazan State Institute of Culture, Professor, Member of the Union of Cinematographers in the Russian Federation. The Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan. Candidate of Historical Sciences. In 2018 she was awarded the chest badge from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan For achievement in culture.
ERNEST ABDYZHAPAROV - Kyrgyz director, screenwriter, composer. Born in 1961. In 1983 he graduated from the Pedagogical Institute of Russian Language and Literature in Frunze. He worked as a school teacher. Since 1988 he is a the director of newsreel Korogoch, since 1992 - the editor of the film studio Kirgizfilm, since 1993 - the director of the creative youth fund Umai. Director of the documentaries Menin Pirim Almanbet, Besh-Terek, Fragile Forest, Aktan’s monkey, Mary - the daughter of Moses, short films Taranchi, Bosogo. His films participated in more than twenty international film festivals. Winner of many international film festivals (Greece, Italy, Germany, France, Russia, etc.), Grand Prix at the IFF in Drama, Greece and Anapa, Russia. The 17th festival Kinoshok: the best script, the film Bright cool. Winner of the Youth Award of Kyrgyzstan in 2001.
Black Pin is his feature film as a screenwriter and director. The film won script awards at the Jerusalem film lab 2014 and the Cinelink Sarajevo film festival. Its premiere was held as a part of the official competition program of the film festival in Sarajevo in 2016, and the film was chosen as a candidate from Montenegro at the 86th Oscar Academy Awards in the category “Best film in a foreign language”.
Barbara Lorey is a Paris-based freelance journalist and film-critic for German and French daily newspapers and periodicals. Under the banner of “Alizarine Productions”, she has been curating for many years film programs and photography exhibitions in Europe and the USA. Born in former East-Germany, she studied in Munich, Hamburg and Paris, and holds master degrees in psychology and sociology. She previously worked for many years as a researcher in intercultural communication.

One of the most famous Chinese directors, a participant and winner of prestigious international film festivals. His film The Girl from Hainan (1986) was shown in the Un Certain Regard program of the Cannes IFF and won the Don Quixote Prize in San Sebastian, as well as awards from other festivals. The film Black Snow (1989) was also awarded a number of prizes, including the Silver Bear of the Berlin IFF.
Dr Rashmi Doraiswamy is Professor at the Academy of International Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia University in New Delhi. She is a specialist on Soviet Union, Eurasia, Central Asia and Russia. She is also a specialist in Film and Culture Studies. She has taught and lectured on cinema in many prestigious institutions. She won the National Award for the Best Film Critic in 1994. She has written and edited several books. She is author of The Post-Soviet Condition: Chingiz
Aitmatov in the ’90 and Guru Dutt: Through Light and Shade. She is editor of Cultural Histories of Central Asia and co-editor of Being and Becoming: The Cinemas of Asia and Asian Film Journeys: Selections from Cinemaya.
Yerzhan Dzhumabekov - Film expert Born on October 13, 1989 in the Kyzylorda region. Professor of the department of History and theory of cinema of KazNAA named after T. Zhurgenov, program director of B aikonyr International Short Film Festival. Has publications since 2006. On this page more than 100 articles are published about the problems of domestic cinema and interviews with leading masters of Kazakh cinema. He was awarded the diploma of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan in 2008 and diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2010.
