Sergey Bodrov

Sergei Bodrov is director, screenwriter and producer, respected across the world. In 1996, Sergei Bodrov won international acclaim with his drama Prisoner of the Mountains, based on the story by Leo Tolstoy. The film earned Bodrov his first Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for the Best Foreign Language Film, a European Film Academy Award for the Best Screenplay and a Cannes Festival Critics Award. His 2007 film Mongol – the Rise of Genghis Khan, won an Academy Award nomination for the Best Foreign Language Film and was released in more than sixty countries. Most recently, Bodrov’s mega-budget fantasy tentpole film Seventh Son, produced by Legendary Pictures and released by Universal Pictures in 2014 starring Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore, puts him in the top-tier of visionary directors today.
